Pentax, one of the leading camera lens manufacturers has just unveiled their new Pentax Optio W60 Waterproof and Extreme Weather Camera. The Optio W60, as stated above, is waterproof and dust resistant; it’s a 10-mega pixel point-and-shoot digital camera that will survive at depths of up to 13 feet for two hours, good enough for the pool, beach and most non-competitive snorkeling. Take note, it can handle freezing temperatures of up to 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Some of its features include a 5x optical zoom, 28mm wide-angle shooting, HD video recording, an anti-shake system, and a sensitivity of 6400 ISO. This latest digital gadget will soon be out in the market this coming July and will be sold at $330. Not bad for a photography hobbyist like me. Just point and click people.

Word has it that Sony’s Playstation Portable will soon have a GPS or Global Position System application installed in it. The handheld gaming console will soon face a different aspect than pure gaming itself. To all PSP users, your gaming and traveling gadget experience will never be the same again.

More Sony PSP info after the jump.

According to Gizmodo.com:

The US PSP navigation software will be all new and much sexier, powered by Tele Atlas with a solid, easy-to-use UI and great-looking maps. The coup de grace is full 3D walkthroughs of cities, supposedly first in the portable class, at least in the US. Sony is aiming for it to be cheaper than most GPS setups too, like $100 to $200, and you can run it off UMD or memory stick. Plus, it’ll come with a car mount. Sony is also cooking up a keyboard that would plug into the bottom, the A/V and headset jacks, and would fold up to protect the screen when you’re not using it.

Sony PSP will soon evolve into a multi-functional gaming and guiding device. How will other gaming console manufacturers beat that? Probably Bill Gates will soon release his Xbox 360 portable any moment now cause rumor has it that half of Microsoft’s original Xbox 360 development team began work on a portable console immediately after the home system launched, while the other half was tasked with driving down the 360’s production costs. Well let’s wait for it and see if it can beat the efficiency and usability of the PSP.

Here’s a photo of an artist’s conception about the Xbox360 portable:
